Shaw Theatres Balestier

“Was at the Shaw Balestier cinema for the first time after the major renovation. A Minecraft Movie. Clean, fresh and good natural lighting. Very welcoming. Decor is retro of the 70s which I guess Shaw theatre was birthed right here. Seats are comfortable, good leg room, cosy and intimate ambience with right air con temperature. Hall 2. Sound system is great too despite the small size as expected will be deafening but no, not at all. Distance from screen to my row, 2nd row from one and only entrance/exit was good, not glaring. Very enjoyable movie and experience. So much better compared to before renovation.”

“Not So Crowded New Cinema This is a beautifully renovated cinema owned by Shaw. It’s quite immaculately built and obviously built for the long term, given they own the building after all. Love the wood paneling lining the escalator path up to the movie theatres. You are then greeted with greenery and natural light thru a glass ceiling. Great touch ! Seats were comfortable. Sounds system was great and the screen display was nice and sharp. Well, everything’s quite new anyway, so why won’t it be. Definitely my new go to cinema.”

“This is a great cinema complex. From the look of it, it gives a vibrant feel to cinema-goers. I go get sense of some renewed experience for a movie here. The aircond was certainly great. Those who couldn't stand cold ambient, pls get a sweater or wear long sleeves top. The cinema seats are comfortable with firm cushion. Younger kids could easily grab their booster seats outside the theater.”

“Well maintained Theatre with not much crowd. Best for late night shows. It’s on Balestier road in Shaw plaza so offered many eateries nearby including Wampao market.”
