RDA Singapore has provided free therapeutic horse riding to people with physical and mental disabilities since 1982. Trained therapy horses, patient coaches, and dedicated volunteers deliver sessions that improve mobility, posture, and social development.

âGreat organisation doing great work for the special needs community. Staff and volunteer are patient and know how to handle the participants very well. Location wise, accessible by public transport but will need to walk in from the main road. Quite a number of buses pass by here but for MRT (Caldecott Station) will need to make quite a distance walk.â

âI volunteer here every Saturday. We work with children with disabilities and help them learn to ride and take care of the horses for their therapy. They are the loveliest bunch of children you'll ever meet and the volunteers are always amazingâ

Overview
The Riding for the Disabled Association Singapore is the country's only charity providing equine-assisted therapeutic sessions free of charge. Since 1982, more than 7,000 disabled children and adults have benefited from the programme. Therapy horses are specially trained for the work. Each session involves trained coaches and a team of weekly volunteers acting as side-pullers to ensure participant safety. RDA holds a British Horse Society Approved Riding Centre designation.
