π Marine Parade, Central
Plain as Play is a drop-off studio on East Coast Road run by qualified early childhood educators. Programmes include literature-inspired playgroups, open-ended child-led play sessions, focused workshops, and birthday celebrations.
My daughter has attended Plain as Play on and off since early 2023, and it has been one of the best decisions Iβve made. Amelia, Aisyah and Cam have always been so very welcoming and helped my daughter feel special and treasured. The workshops are incredible and so well thought out. Itβs clear to see their early education backgrounds. Each workshop is so fun and engaging. I love to see photos of my daughterβs visits and little updates throughout her stay. It really helps me to visualise what she has been doing and talk about her day with her afterwards. My favourite memory was right after my daughter first started, shortly before she turned two. We walked and she spotted a moth. She explained to me how it was camouflaged and all about its life cycle. She had been completing a bug theme at Plain as Play and loved telling me everything she learned. If you are undecided, I would suggest giving a trial go. You will be so impressed by the space and the people, and there is no harm getting a quick coffee in for yourself while your child plays! I will be sending my youngest just as soon as he is old enough. ADDITION: I did end up sending my son to Plain As Play when he was old enough, and indeed for as long as I could before we left town. Both my children have begged to come back again and again and have always come out with smiles and happy stories. Truly the best discovery we made in the East Coast. Thank you to you all, you have brightened our time in Singapore.
π Family Action Verdict
The educators are qualified and highly skilled β they were very good at settling my son at each session and provided photo updates of his progress. It's a fantastic place for parents needing some much-needed respite whilst knowing their children are safe and having fun.

βMy 3 year old son attended play sessions here. The place is beautifully curated with books, toys and play stations. My son always enjoyed his sessions. The educators are qualified and highly skilled. They were very good at settling my son at each session and provided photo updates of his progress. This is a fantastic place for parents needing some much needed respite whilst knowing their children are safe and having fun. Thanks!β

βThe space is beautifully done up and very well thought through. Thereβs a good variety of building toys, sensory play and just empty space to run around - my toddler was thoroughly engaged for a good two hours! Aisyah and Amelia are confident and friendly, and the kids warmed up to them instantly. 10/10 would recommend, and would send my kid back again!β

βCouldnβt recommend any other happy place for your kids, be it for thoughtfully curated playgroups/play sessions/camps/ birthday events. My daughter has been going since she was 18th months (drop off) and is still going more than 3 years later. One of a kind in Singapore, and truly a gem, led by a smart, creative, respectful and caring team!β
