1 / 2Lorong 40 Geylang Playground
đ Geylang, Central
A compact, shaded playground along the Geylang Park Connector featuring a functioning swing set, newly installed cognitive game panels, exercise equipment, and a calm riverside jogging path.
This remains one of very few playgrounds around here that still has a fully functioning swing. The playground is surrounded by residential areas and is bordering the park connector and the river. It is quite shady in the afternoon-evening and quite popular among residents near and far. It has a nice small area for u to park your bicycles. Quite a distance away from roads so u feel quite safe to let your kids have a run around with minimal supervision. Besides the precious swing, it also has the multi slide in the middle, a see saw, and a bouncing fire engine. The latex carpet is a bit worn out but wasn't so bad. Seriously I don't know what's going on with the swings in all the playgrounds around dakota-mountbatten-geylang area. All are either removed or cordoned off for refurbishment. It's been a real struggle trying to find a functioning one. Do bring mosquito patch for ur kids. Found 1 or 2 buzzing around but it is not as bad as some others that I have encountered like Katong Park. We came on the 1st day of phase 2 heightened alert so we were pleasantly surprised that they didn't close this. Let's be nice and maintain safe distancing so authorities keep this open for longer.
đ Family Action Verdict
A genuinely useful neighbourhood playground for Geylang families, particularly valued for its rare functioning swing and shaded environment. The new game panels add an engaging, educational dimension for children and parents alike.

âA small yet cozy and artsy park in Geylang area. You can enjoy the shade of the trees in Singapores heat on a bench while your kids play if you have any. There is some public fitness euipment provided as well as far as I remember.â

âPlayground with new equipments installed in Dec2025. Additional cognitive game panels are interesting and useful for all ages. Exercise corner with new equipments installed in early 2025 is a favorite with residents.â

âNice park by the riverside. There is a large path by the riverside that is good for jogging and strolls.â

Overview
Lorong 40 Geylang Playground sits alongside the park connector and river, offering one of the few functioning swing sets in the Geylang-Mountbatten area. The playground was upgraded in late 2025 with new cognitive game panels suitable for all ages, and a new exercise corner was added in early 2025 for adult residents. Shade from surrounding trees makes afternoon and evening visits comfortable.
