Have visited this sanctuary twice (once last year and another time recently) before adopting a lovely girl from them. The volunteers are very attentive and interactive with the visitors. Guidelines for adoption are also outlined clearly and they do enforce strict requirements (catproofing the house and especially meshing the windows) for the benefits of the cats and kittens. Jessica and her team will run through all the steps from ear cleaning to showering the cats (they actually went through the entire process with us) once the adoption goes through so you will not feel lost even if you are a first time owner. They will also send you notes detailing the cats/kittens' diet and how to integrate them into your household if you have existing cats at home. The cats and kittens are very well taken care of. Even if you are not adopting, it is a lovely place to spend an afternoon to get acquainted with the tame and friendly cats there 😊

πŸ† Family Action Verdict

Best for families with cat-loving children who want a hands-on, educational experience beyond a standard petting zoo. The sanctuary's adoption focus means the visit is structured around genuine cat welfare education. Book a slot in advance.

β€œSanctuary that rescues cats and kittens from being unwanted. Read a bunch of reviews before booking a slot, which said the owner was unfriendly and abusive to staff, but didn't experience this myself. Place run mostly by passionate volunteers who love cats, and want to help. Front section full of the cutest kittens, middle section lovely adults including one amazing cat with a neurological condition, and the back for the resident cats.”

β€œIf you ever want to learn about and play with cats and kittens this is the place to visit. Just a token of $20 per pax per visit you’ll learn more about these rescued cats and kittens. So if you ever consider a cat for a pet, don’t buy. Go visit Kitten Sanctuary and adopt one. Watch video on recently rescued kittens enjoying themselves in a safe and healthy environment.”
