Climb Central SAFRA Choa Chu Kang
📍 Singapore, North
Indoor facility with bouldering, top rope, and lead walls up to 16 metres. Auto-belay systems and Singapore National Climbing Standard courses available. Ages 4+ with adult supervision required for ages 4–12.
Really enjoyed myself here. Good workout and fun. As a beginner, I find that I am pretty good for the walls. Will be back but not this outlet coz its too far away.
🏆 Family Action Verdict
Best suited to climbing families where every member plans to climb. The strict no-spectators policy makes it a poor fit for mixed groups where some want to watch. Beginners will find the auto-belays and beginner routes welcoming.

“Love the route setting for bouldering. Amazing lead climb routes. Top rope segment can include more challenging routes as it’s shorter”

“Short review: if you are looking to lead climb here you best look elsewhere. The other CC gyms have better setting, better quickdraws and more lanes. It is a miserable experience to lead climb here. Long part below: 24/12/2024 updated I do not enjoy the layout of the gym whatsoever. Due to the layout of the building toilet access is only through the 4th floor and requires you to go up and down if you mainly lead climb. Same complaint with the water cooler as it is stationed upstairs. Same complaint with bag storage. Which is compounded by the fact that the lockers are way too small to fit your bag. Lighting in the gym is also sub-par as the bright spotlights are so jarring as it clashes with the overall dim lights cast by the big balls in the lead area which makes standing next to the bright lights blinding. Climbing is the only aspect of this gym that succeeds as everything else feels clumsy and inconvenient. Visit only if you live in the west. Updated part I have since visited this gym another 4 times since the initial review and every time i come here i grow more and more annoyed at the gym. As I mainly lead climb, the gym has gotten worse in my opinion. Half of the bottom floor was converted to toprope/autobelay reducing the amount of lead lanes. The quality of the routes have dropped and are now wildly inconsistent even within the gym. The lead quickdraws are proably the worst i have ever felt anywhere, even outdoors. It is a miserable experience as a lead climber and if you are looking to this gym for that i advise against it. The kilter board is huge and fun as always but the area is poorly lit and unappealing. Just disappointing. Dont come for lead.”

“TL;DR: not family friendly, quite expensive, otherwise good venue Note that we've given the feedback to the staff directly in the venue, so we are posting this with the hope to bring about change - and maybe then edit or remove the review. While the staff was helpful and friendly, and tried to accommodate for a special request from our group (a family with an infant who wasn't obviously going to climb), we soon found that there was very limited flexibility in terms of accessing the venue as a family group (with both climbers and non-climbers. In a nutshell, only individuals who have paid and have checked in can enter the venue. My pregnant wife who joined us later was refused access, which led us to end our session early, as she was waiting at the counter downstairs. We have explained that the gym should have rules/processes that would allow non-climbers to step in and sit around, while not compromising their safety and the safety of others, instead of rules that split family groups. Making the venue more welcoming would help encourage families to come and enjoy this great activity together. For instance, this could include getting non-climbers to go through a visitor safety induction, adding simple floor markings as a reference for non-climbers, etc. The venue is good for beginners, layout is a bit unusual with that multi level layout, but still enjoyable. Good mix of styles and difficulty levels.”
