Stepping into the Omni-Theatre at Science Centre Singapore felt like entering a completely different world. This isn’t your usual cinema — the massive dome screen and immersive surround sound make you feel like you’re inside the movie, whether you’re flying through space or exploring nature. The visuals are incredibly sharp and engaging, and it’s a great mix of entertainment and learning for both kids and adults. One big tip: visit on a weekday. That’s truly the best time to go. The crowd is much smaller, and it feels almost like you have the theatre to yourself, especially if you’re going with family. The experience is more relaxed, quieter, and way more enjoyable without the usual weekend rush. Ticket prices are also very reasonable. Singaporeans and Permanent Residents pay around $8, while tourists pay about $14, which is excellent value considering how unique the experience is compared to a regular movie theatre. What I also love is how convenient the location is. After the Omni-Theatre, you can easily spend more time nearby. KidsSTOP™ is perfect for younger children with hands-on learning and play, while Snow City is just next door if you want something fun and cooling. It’s easy to turn this into a full half-day or even full-day family outing. Overall, the Omni-Theatre is a great place to slow down, learn something new, and enjoy quality time together. If you’re looking for something different to do in Singapore — especially on a weekday — this is definitely worth checking out.

🏆 Family Action Verdict

A consistently impressive experience for school-age children who enjoy science, nature, and discovery content. The dome format genuinely elevates the material beyond what a flat screen delivers. Combining it with KidsSTOP or Snow City on the same visit makes excellent use of the journey out to Jurong.

Located at the Science Centre Singapore, the Omni-Theatre is Southeast Asia’s first and only IMAX dome theatre – and it’s an experience that’s truly out of this world. From the moment you step into the dome, you know you’re in for something special. The massive 23-meter wide screen curves around your field of vision, fully immersing you in stunning visuals. Whether it’s deep-sea exploration or a journey through space, the clarity and scale make you feel like you’re part of the action. The show lineup changes periodically, but it often features nature documentaries, astronomy journeys, or scientific adventures that are both educational and visually spectacular. The narration is usually crisp and engaging, and the soundtrack enhances the emotional weight of what you see. Seats are angled for optimal viewing, though it’s worth noting that if you’re prone to motion sickness or have neck strain issues, the dome format might feel overwhelming during some scenes. Still, for most visitors — especially families with kids or science enthusiasts — the experience is exhilarating.

Omnimax theater is one of the best place for movies like Everest where you can watch at a widescreen. I got my tickets at Klook. Very cool 😎. Visit if you can. Open up your eyes and see the world in a different light . You will enjoy. Not only the theater, snow city, kidstop, science center is just next to the theater. Moreover there is a Indian restaurant Phoenix there too for meals. The annual pass is very worth too. The kids will like it. There is also rock climbing activity too. There’s car parks readily available too.

Decent setup with free seating upon ticket purchase. Tickets can now only be purchased online. Loved the experiential short docus that is a little 4d like. My kids had fun watching exploring new worlds. Take the seats at the centre of the theatre for the best experience! I learned something new myself!
