π Bukit Merah, Central
Premium cinema format at VivoCity with wide, comfortable seating and an audio system praised for its depth and clarity. Cafe facilities and pram access available.
When I watched Lilo n Stitch at GV Gold Bugis, I have had the Hawaii experience besides the action, adventure and comedy. Watching How to Train a Dragon at GVMax Vivocity, I enjoyed the cinema experience in a mega way and the seat was spacious and so comfortable. I missed the dine-in, blanket and adjustable reclining chair of GV Gold of course. I wonder if the two product segmentation is necessary, but I appreciate the uniqueness of either.
π Family Action Verdict
Families who rate comfort and audio quality highly will appreciate the generous seat spacing and impressive sound design at GVMax. The spacious layout makes longer films comfortable for children and adults alike. Factor in extra time before the advertised start time as the pre-film advertising block is lengthy.

βGiven that Dolby still doesn't open a Dolby Cinema hall in Singapore, this one is the best alternative to that! Although it doesn't have Dolby Vision effect like the Dolby Cinema halls, the sound system is astonishing as Dolby Cinema I have experienced outside of SG!β

βScreen was much smaller than I expected from a βGVMaxβ ticket. Exit brings you all the way down to 1st floor outside taxi stand. Would be much better if the exit brought you back INSIDE the mall near a toilet instead. Exit also does not lead you back to the same section as the cinema. Canβt recommend buying a GVMax ticket.β
